There was little opposing Tennessee defenses could do against Tray Curry during the 2018 high school football season but hope for a running play. The 6-2, 198-pound, receiver was beastly approaching the 1,000-yard mark with 982 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. The action for Bradley Central High School against 6A foes has brought a four-star ranking and 11 offers to date from college programs to Curry. Three teams have successfully hosted Curry this offseason with Virginia Tech, Kentucky, and Tennessee getting early visits in with the rising star. With college camps coming this summer along with visits to Ole Miss and Alabama, I caught up with Curry for a quick overview on his offseason workouts and recruiting process.

Was there a weakness to your game at the start of the 2018 season that became a strength by the end of the season?

“My blocking. I worked hard on that to get better. And, my footwork and getting off the line.”

Will your role on the team change at all in 2019?

“I am playing some safety this season.”

Are you excited about lining up at safety in 2019?

“I can’t wait. It will be fun.”

What are you working on this spring?

“I am working on strength and my route running.”
