The debate on where he plays at the next level is to be decided, but there is no doubt that Ephesians Prysock is a standout collegiate recruit. At Alemany High School during his junior campaign, he notched 43 stops, 25 solo, in the Warriors secondary at corner and got time on offense at receiver bringing down 15 passes for 163 yards with a score. Seeing him as a corner or as a safety, the talents of the 6-3, 170-pound, athlete have caught the attention of college football programs across the country with 17 offers extended.
In another visit to the RNG Lab, Prysock updates us on his offseason workouts and schools he’d like to visit once the NCAA mandated dead period ends.

Interview
Ephesians, during this extended offseason, what have you been doing to take your athletic talents to that next level with your speed and strength?
I was working with JD Sumlin, his brother, and some other guys. Over the summer I worked with them but now we are back practicing. I’ve been working with my team, lifting, and doing some hill work with my dad and little brother.
What are some of the lifts and workouts you’ve been doing?
When I work with my dad, it is more explosive hill workouts. At Alemany, they are trying to put weight on me and get me stronger overall.
What are some of the workouts you are doing to increase your speed and agility?
Jump rope and some ladders.
When we spoke last you were focused on your skills as a corner and safety. Which technical areas of your game have you continued to work on in preparation for the 2020 season?
We have a new coverage this season at my school, off-man. I have been working on off-man and getting right with that. I’ve worked on getting my hands right and not letting them cross my face.
Where are you seeing the improvements?
To me, I like to run press man, I work on that a lot. That has gotten a lot better, and it will keep getting better. I am getting out of breaks a little bit faster, I have been working on that, and I have improved on not letting guys inside.
Receiver is another part of your game taking off. How have you pushed your boundaries and abilities on that side of the ball?
I played receiver my freshman year and a little bit last year, but as you mentioned I will be playing more this year. I’ve focused on getting my releases right and in and out of my breaks smoothly.
How has lining up at receiver helped you improve your understanding of the game as a defensive back?
It helps me a lot. What I do at receiver is what a lot of people do against me as a defensive back. I know what they are going to do by what I am going to do. That helps a lot on defense, understanding what they are going to do after each move, if they release inside, and things like that.
The delayed start to the 2020 season has not stopped college programs from offering you. How many scholarships are in-hand now?
I have 17 offers.
Nice. Which programs were the last couple to offer?
Colorado, UNLV, UCLA, Arizona, and before Sept. 1 I got an offer from Arizona State.
Prysock’s Offer Sheet: Arizona, Arizona State, Boston College, Colorado, Florida, LSU, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Oregon State, Texas, UCLA, UNLV, USC, and Utah
Which programs are showing interest but have not offered yet?
Washington.
Hopefully visits will be allowed again early in 2021. When that happens, are there any schools you’d like to visit?
Yes, I want to visit Oklahoma, Ohio State, Washington, and Oregon. I want to visit these schools and have fun. There are a lot of schools I’d like to visit.
With college football nearing full capacity at the FBS classification in regards to teams playing, who are some of the players and/or teams that you are watching to see the skills and technique of the guys at the next level?
I watch a lot of Elias Ricks (LSU) and Olaijah Griffin (USC), but mostly I am watching Ricks. He is a good guy, and coaches say I have a body like him. I have been inspired by him and have watched him since my freshman year.
He’s a good one to watch. He got another pick on Saturday against South Carolina.
Yes, he did.
Ephesians, always great getting time in with you. Thank you.
Thank you.
