In an RNG first-look, Robinson visited the Lab detailing his breakout sophomore run with insight on his rising recruiting process.

Interview

Ta’Mere, you had a big season cracking helmets for the Bulls from your safety position. Looking back on the schedule, how did you feel the season went for you personally?

Personally, I feel like I had a good season. I did want to move down to linebacker so I could be more aggressive in the backfield, but this is where my team needed me. But this is what I needed to do for the team. I feel like I had a good season. This season I had way more tackles but less interceptions; we did not play many passing teams this year. Other than that, I feel like I had a good season.

What defensive scheme were you guys executing?

We ran a lot of things, but most of the time we were in a four-man front running a 4-4.

What was the main coverage you guys were running in the secondary?

Cover 3.

Playing in the secondary, which areas of your game showed the biggest improvements on defense during the 2020 run?

My run coverage, I stopped a lot of plays. This season I was in on every tackle; much more so than last year. I am able to play sideline to sideline and over the top deflecting the pass or getting the interception. Last year my angles were terrible.

On your film, you did show great angles this season on your run stop.

Thank you, sir.

You got some snaps in on offense as well this year, right?

Yes, sir.

Where did they line you up?

Tight end and receiver, and one game at quarterback for a little bit.

How were you utilized within the scheme at tight end and receiver?

Beginning of the season my coaches told me I would be a decoy; I had no problem with that. I would block a lot, but then they started throwing to me when we needed a first down or on the goal line in the red zone.

If we were to sit down and watch your best game of the season, which game are we watching?

Might have been either (Taylor) Allderdice, our second game, no third game of the season, or our playoff game against Westinghouse.

Why did you pick those games?

Against Allderdice, I had some great stops, a bunch of solo tackles, and I scored that game. I had three receptions in that game. In the playoff game, I was everywhere. I had 13 tackles in that game, and four completions.

What is or will be the focus of your offseason workouts?

I want to work on my speed and explosion. I want to work on playing linebacker just in case I end up playing that next year.

Going into recruiting. Which programs are showing interest but have not offered yet?

Rutgers is the main one right now.

How many offers have been given to you?

Seven.

Robinson’s Offer Sheet: Michigan, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Toledo, West Virginia, and William & Mary

Which programs were the last couple to offer?

My last offer was from Toledo, before that I got five in one day.

That sounds like the best day ever.

Yes, it definitely was. I was shocked, surprised, and super happy.

In 2021, are there any schools you’d like to visit?

I do want to visit Syracuse, that’s the only one I have not been too yet, them and Toledo. Their facilities and campus I feel will be very nice.

Are you playing any other varsity sports for Brashear?

Basketball.

Are you guys into the season?

No, we are on hold. Everything was locked down again.

Last question. What goals have you set for yourself to accomplish over the winter months?

I just got into lifting and did my maxes. I have some high numbers, 255 on squat, 195 on clean, 195 on bench, and 315 on deadlift. From there, I want to go up in numbers. That would be a great accomplishment. I started lifting before the season, during my freshman year I was small. I want to get bigger, faster, and stronger, and start eating healthier.

Ta’Mere, I appreciate your time today. It was great covering ground with you. Wishing you and the team success this season in basketball once you get going again.

Thank you, sir.
