Regardless if Ephesians Prysock is lining up at receiver or corner, his talent, size, speed, and abilities create mismatches for the opposition that cannot easily be overcome. Coming in at 6-3, 170-pounds, Prysock can take on bigger receivers and can impose his will on the smaller wideouts at corner. As a threat in the passing game, the same holds true going the opposite way with strength against the smaller corners and size that typically dwarfs any defensive back. Suiting up with California’s Alemany High School the four-star talent recorded 43 stops, 25 solo, and 15 receptions for 163 yards with one touchdown. With the production on tape, eight college football programs spanning the country have offered.
In another RNG confab, Prysock dishes on his breakout sophomore season with an update on his college football recruiting process.
Interview
Ephesians, we spoke a few months back covering your skills on the field at that time. For those who may not have watched our video interview, let’s do a quick recap. How did the 2019 season go for you as a defensive back?
“The season went pretty good. I had a few interceptions and I learned a lot. I learned from my teammates and the other defensive backs on the team. Our chemistry helped. We made it farther than last year.”
What were some of the coverages you were running last season?
“We ran Cover 3 and man.”
Once the season ended, what did you feel were your strengths as a DB?
“During the season, I got better with my technique. I was learning from the older guys and working out with them, that really helped. I got better reading two to one, with my backpedal, and getting in and out of my breaks.”
You also got time in on offense at receiver, how did that part of your game grow?
“That part helps me a lot as a DB. Playing receiver and DB, I did well with the time I played at receiver.”
Where all will we see you on the field in 2020?
“This season I am playing receiver and DB. Wherever coach puts me; I can play all of it. I am trying to stay at corner, but college coaches are recruiting me as a safety.”
What have you been working on with your game overall this spring?
“I am trying to work on my footwork more, getting my hands on receivers, and being more aggressive – things like that. Right now, since I can’t do anything, I am running hills and lifting at home trying to get stronger.”
A quick catch-up on recruiting. How many offers do you have now?
“Eight.”
Prysock’s Offer Sheet (8): Boston College, Florida, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Texas and USC
Which program was the last to offer?
“Texas.”
That’s great. Did you get any visits in before the dead period began?
“Yes, I visited USC for an Elite Junior Day.”
How did that visit go?
“It was fun. I saw a lot of great players there. We went to watch a basketball game against UCLA.”
Last one for you. This is my virus buster question. What have you been doing for fun without having to go up to school every day?
“For fun, football related I have been working out, doing footwork drills on a local field, and lifting at home. I have been kicking it with my little brother playing games and that type of thing.”
Ephesians, it was great catching up with you today. I appreciate your time and wish you continued success with your offseason workouts.
“Thank you.”
