One thing a college coach cannot teach an offensive lineman is size. Each offensive line coach has an ideal size they like for their positions in the trenches, and Garrett DiGiorgio is fitting the look of a cornerstone tackle. The 6-7, 300-pound, Serrano High School prospect was kind of lingering on overlooked earlier this year even after earning All-Area, All-League, and All-CIF honors. But as the spring months have powered on, the three-star California Class of 2021 has turned into one of the fastest rising prospects in the nation with 17 offers extended.
In an RNG follow up call, DiGiorgio updates his workouts this spring and how he is handling being one of the more highly coveted offensive tackles in the nation who is still open to the process.

Interview
Garrett, we spoke last in February covering your strengths as an offensive tackle then. What have you been working on with the technical part of your game on offense over the last couple of months?
“The last couple of months I have worked more on my footwork, hands, and keeping my elbows in – everything really. I am working on my craft trying to get better, and I have all the time in the world to do it. During this time, I have worked on a lot of things. The weight room in the garage helps me a lot, and I get to work on everything. It is really nice.”
Where are you seeing the improvements from last season to this spring?
“Through the training I am doing and at home, I’ve been practicing my stance and me feet getting faster. I am getting faster overall.”
When we spoke last, you were adding some defensive end/tackle to your game. What have you been doing to prepare for that role this spring?
“Not too much, that is not my main position. I’m being put in there because I’m big really. The footwork and hand work will help there, and that will be good.”
This was mentioned a minute ago, going deeper. What is your daily strength workout routine?
“Around 8:00 a.m. I wake up, eat, and do my online work for school. At 1:00 or 2:00, I get in the garage to do my workouts. With my lifts, I mix it up and do some push-and-pull days. It varies so I can get everything in. I work out for two hours and do other stuff afterwards.”
What is your daily conditioning and speed training regimen?
“I run every other day for two to four miles to keep my conditioning up. I do 5-10-5s and sprints when I got to Serrano. Speed ladders and jump rope, I try to get everything in.”
Also, since we spoke last, your recruiting has blown up. Which schools are showing interest now ahead of potentially offering?
“Interest is coming in from Utah, Michigan, some from Maryland, and some of the other Pac-12 schools as well. I am trying to stay on top of it all, it has been busy but good. With all the coaches that can call freely, it is insane.”
Where is the offer total now?
“I have 17 offers.”
Nice. Which schools were the last couple to offer?
“My last one was Washington State and some of my other recent offers have been Duke, Washington State, and Hawaii.”
DiGiorgio Offer Sheet: Arizona, Cal, Dartmouth, Duke, Fresno State, Harvard, Hawaii, Morgan State, Northern Arizona, Oregon State, Princeton, Sacramento State, San Diego State, San Jose State, UCLA, Washington State, and Yale
For context for the readers, when we did our interview in late February, you had four offers. With the fantastic jump and all the recruiting attention, what has it been like for you trying to stay on top of it all?
“I think it is fun. I get to make good relationship with all the coaches but it can be crazy at times. It is a fun process, and it is something I am happy to go through – by far.”
Last question. What does the upcoming visit schedule look like once things open up?
“When it opens up, I will try to get all the schools I have offers from to have a good feel for all the schools. Then, I can finally figure out what I want and where I want to go. We are taking a motorhome trip to see all the colleges.”
That will be fun and an adventure. Garrett, thanks for your time today and good luck with the upcoming visits.
“Thank you.”
