Jalen Ned is one of the best high school basketball players in the class of 2020, however the phenomenal freshman does not only excel on the court but also on the football field.
This season Ned spent time at both sides of the ball at the varsity and junior varsity level. In all the action he saw, the 5’11”, 175 pound, athlete caught 19 passes for 320 yards and rushed the ball 20 times for 201 yards. On defense, Jalen had 20 tackles, two interceptions and broke up 10 passes.
Not only does Ned already have three college offers (USC, TCU, and Tulane) to play basketball but he also has received offers from Kentucky and Tulane to play football at the collegiate level.
The young playmaker has helped De La Salle finish the regular season at 10-0 clinching the No. 1 seed in the Division II playoff bracket. The Cavaliers have earned a first round playoff bye and will face the winner of St. Louis and Lusher Charter game in the second round of the playoffs on Nov. 19.
After the football season, Ned will focus on basketball where he averaged 16.7 PPG, 6.5 APG, and 3.2 RPG and won MVP for the freshman team.
In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I sat down with Jalen to talk about his thoughts on his freshman season and his team heading into the playoffs.
