There is no offense more effective than being able to give the pigskin to a playmaker anywhere on the field and at any time watching him take it the house for a score. Whenever Le’Veon Moss has the ball in his hands, the improbable becomes possible and explosive plays become the norm. The 5-11, 198-pound, tailback ripped 4A Louisiana defenses during his sophomore season rolling for 1,300 yards on the ground with 18 touchdowns earning All-District and All-State honors while playing part-time on defense as a safety and outside linebacker. The size, speed, and productivity has already led to 10 scholarship offers being dropped and four-star recruiting status.

With all eyes on the Istrouma Senior, Moss enters the offseason pushing his physical talents ready to build upon the skills and natural giftings that has made him one of the nation’s top running back prospects in the nation. To cover it all, we sat down for an RNG one-on-one interview.

Interview

Le’Veon, you were making defenses pay last season coming out of the backfield for the Indians. Given all the big-time/explosive plays you were turning in, what were you doing to make that happen?

“It’s not a secret, but I take my time. I visualize the play, I am patient and allow the play to develop.”

What offense set were you guys executing last season?

“Spread with a single-back running inside zone.”

In which ways were the coaches getting the ball into your hands?

“Inside zone – I make everything look like an inside run. We did some pulls and counters, and some stretch plays too.”

How did your overall game improve last season?

“My yards after contact improved, one-cut and gone, patience, and my breakaway speed.”

Your speed is next level elite kind of stuff. How fast are you?

“The fastest track time I ran was a 10.9 in the 100 and my fastest 40 was a 4.3.”

Where did you post the 4.3 40-yard dash?

“At a camp at Southern University. It was Boot Camp with all the Louisiana schools.”

Is there an aspect to your game that maybe did not get showcased that much and might get overlooked?

“My hands; I can catch but we do not throw it as much. This upcoming season, I think we will put the ball in the air more. I will have receiving yards this year.”

What all will you be doing on the field in 2020?

“I will be at running back, wideout, and I want to play corner or safety if I can.”

What have you been working on with your game this offseason?

“This offseason I have been working on my footwork, trying to maintain my speed running with a parachute, ladders, and my route running after talking to my coach. I have been working the route tree and doing explosive work – coming off the line as a receiver.”

If the camp season on college campuses happens this summer, are there any you may attend?

“I am planning on going to LSU, Alabama, and Georgia camps.”

How many offers do you have now?

“Ten.”

Which programs were the last few to offer?

“Nebraska, Texas A&M, and TCU.”

Moss’ Offer Sheet: Alabama, LSU, Memphis, Miami, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and TCU

Going back to last season, have you had a chance to visit any schools?

“Yes. I went to an LSU game, their game against Arkansas.”

What did you do on the LSU visit?

“I saw the facilities and watched the game.”

Coming up, are there any planned trips?

“Yes, sir. I plan on taking a couple of visits, but I am not sure to which schools yet.”

Le’Veon, it was great getting time in with you today. Wishing you success at the camps this summer and with your visits.

“Thank you.”
