Interview: Maumelle CB Caleb Epperson Gearing Up for Big Senior Season

On high school campuses across the country, athletes wrapping up their junior year are starting to feel the time crunch as the label senior is about to added with their given name. For those dreaming of playing college football, there is no waiting until tomorrow to start making strides towards their aspirations. At Maumelle High School, cornerback Caleb Epperson is pushing towards his goals. The 5-11, 180-pound, defender is working on his technique and athleticism this spring with a healthy plan of catching recruiting interest this summer at various college camps.
In an RNG first-look interview, Epperson brings us into his offseason workouts with a look at his potential camp schedule.

Caleb, each season is another opportunity to learn and showcase the skills. When you wrapped the 2020 schedule, were you happy with the personal progress you made as a corner?
Yes, sir. I feel like my mindset was better. I was tackling better and I was being a leader on the field in the secondary.
What coverages were you guys executing during the season?
Cover 3 mostly and Cover 2.
Which coverage is your favorite to run?
Man.
Which parts of your skillset improved the most as a defensive back last season?
My tackling and my off-man coverage.
When the 2021 season gets going, where all might we see you on the field?
I am staying at corner.
What have you been working on this offseason with your fundamentals preparing for your senior year?
Gaining strength, making my hips more fluid, and perfecting my off-man coverage.
How have you worked to add more speed and agility to your game?
By doing squats, tire flips, hurdles, and everything possible to get my hips looser.
Have you posted a 40-yard dash this offseason?
Yes, sir. I ran a 4.68 at Maumelle before spring break.
Are there any national and/or local camps you are going got this spring?
I am going to the VSG camp at War Memorial on April 24.
Fantastic. Are there any college camps you may attend this summer?
I have camp invites from SAU (Southern Arkansas), Southern Nazarene, Southeastern Oklahoma, and Arkansas Tech.
