Ellis Alexander, a sophomore, was a starting wide receiver at Green Oaks High School during the 2016 season. Despite an injury, Alexander played very well during his first season at the varsity level. Alexander had 561 total yards of offense and accounted for six touchdowns. The sophomore laid the groundwork for a breakout junior season.
The Giants struggled to a 1-9 finish in 2016 which forced a coaching change in Shreveport. Green Oaks has hired Terrence Isaac to become their new head coach heading into the 2017 season. Alexander is looking forward to working with his new head coach and building upon the experience he gained in 2016 to lead Green Oaks to a winning season in 2017.
The Class of 2019 recruit is 5’11”, 170 pounds, and will be working hard this offseason to hone his craft and improve on his weaknesses to be able to lead this team for the rest of his Green Oaks career. Alexander not only works hard on the football field but also works hard in the classroom where he currently has a 2.8 GPA.
With the hiring of a new coach and two years remaining in Alexander’s high school career, the future is bright for Green Oaks football. In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I sat down with Ellis to talk about his career at Green Oaks, his first year starting, and his new head coach.
