Interview with Green Oaks Louisiana QB Jaylon Carey

Written by Charlie Beuttel

Green Oaks High School in Shreveport, Louisiana has struggled to win games over the past two years. They have finished 3-7 in each of the past two seasons. In 2014, the Giants record could have been completely different as they suffered quite a few close losses. They lost four games by 10 points or less including a 19-18 loss against Mansfield.

Expectations are rising around this football team heading into 2015 as star quarterback Jaylon Carey is back to lead this team in his senior season.

The 6’1″, 210 pound, dual-threat quarterback passed for 1,049 yards and 13 touchdowns and rushed for 887 yards and four touchdowns in 2014.

The Class of 2016 recruit has received interest from several in-state schools including Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, and Grambling State. Carey looks to have a huge senior season as he leads this Giants team.

In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I sat down with Jaylon to talk about his high school career at Green Oaks and his recruiting process going into his senior season.
