Shawnee Mission South High School, located just outside of Kansas City (KS), had an average season last year with the Raiders finishing 11-11 scoring on average 50.86 points a game. The good news for Raiders’ fans is that the team has an extra year of experience under their belts and one of the returning leaders of the team, power forward Yor Anei, has his eyes set on having a big season in 2016.

Yor Anei, whose parents are from South Sudan but he was born in California, had a great sophomore season averaging 10 points and six rebounds per game. The 6’9”, 205 pound, big man runs the floor very well and uses his outstanding reach to block shots and grab rebounds.

Despite just entering his junior season, Anei has already caught the eye of college programs and has received three offers. Along with the offers, there are several other local schools showing interest in the big man including Kansas State and Wichita State.

Anei has been busy this off-season working hard so he can help lead his team to an improved record and a trip to the state tournament.

In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview I sat down with Yor to discuss his career at Shawnee Mission South and his recruiting process.
