The recruiting process for wide receiver Matthew Eaton has been a long and arduous one, but all has ended well for the junior college talent with a verbal commitment to Iowa State Friday night.
Eaton was a one-time commit to Appalachian State but flipped to Temple just before National Signing Day as part of the 2014 class. The former Pascagoula High School star ended up at Pearl River Community College after redshirting in 2014 and catching one pass for 11 yards during the 2015 season for Temple. He transferred to Pear River in January.
The Mississippi talent had a great senior season in high school reeling in 49 passes for 834 yards with six scores. Eaton is listed at 6’4”, 205 pounds, making him a likely red zone target and a possession receiver who can move the chains for the Cyclones once on campus.
Eaton made his announcement simple on Twitter posting, “Iowa State Commit!!”
Iowa State now has 10 verbal commitments to their 2017 recruiting class.
