ORLANDO, Fla. – Getting it done on the field and in the classroom opens extra college football recruiting options. For Jamison Holliday (6-1, 180), the new hard-hitting safety/outside linebacker for Mainland High School (Daytona Beach, Fla.) has two offers down with recruiting interest building after camp performances this summer.
During the 2022 season, Deltona High School (Fla.) utilized Holliday’s skills around the box as a strong safety/outside backer and deep roaming the Wolves’ last line of defense. The gridiron action produced 55 stops with six tackles for a loss, two sacks, and six passes broken up. The bone jarring hits added two forced fumbles on the stat sheet along with two fumble recoveries taking one back to the house.
The offseason travel schedule was covered.
“I went to UCF and Auburn this year after being invited to their camps,” Holliday said. “I also visited UCF over my spring break, and I went to their spring game this year, and I also visited Carson-Newman.”
A recruiting connection worth watching is developing in Orlando.
“The UCF camp went well,” Holliday shared. “I performed well. Their coaches loved me; I feel I did well. They like me. I have been there about six or seven times.”
Carrying a 3.7 GPA is bringing Ivy League attention to Holliday.
“Fordham, Carson-Newman, UCF, Dartmouth, Cornell, Columbia, a lot of Ivy League schools, are showing interest,” Holliday stated.
A return to Tennessee is being planned for the fall months.
“This fall I am going back to Carson-Newman, I know for sure in December, and I am also going up there for a game-day visit,” Holliday said.
Holliday has received offers from Westminster College and Erie Community College.
