TCU added their highest rated player to date to their 2017 recruiting class on Thursday with the commitment of Texas wide receiver Jalen Reagor. Landing Reagor was a big boost for the Horned Frogs recruiting class while taking one away from Big 12 foe Oklahoma.
There is no denying Reagor’s talents on the gridiron. The 5-11, 182 pound, speedster drew national attention at Waxahachie High School after a standout junior campaign securing 64 passes for 1,108 yards finding the end zone 13 times. The Indians are off to a 6-1 start to their 2016 season with their Under Armour All-American Game invitee making plays all over the field. Out of the backfield, Reagor has nine carries for 99 yards with three scores breaking off a 74-yard touchdown run. In the passing attack, he has hauled in 38 passes for 729 yards with 10 touchdowns.
TCU might be able to use Reagor on special teams once on campus. Fielding seven kickoffs, he has covered 175 more yards with a long of 55.
TCU fans found out about the commitment on Twitter. The Horned Frogs success recruiting other Waxahachie players was credited with the change of heart:
The Horned Frogs are the third team Reagor has committed to thus far. Reagor was a one-time commitment to Texas Tech decommitting on March 9 after a visit to Norman committing to the Sooners on March 27.
247Sports ranks TCU’s class as the 61st best in the country, seventh best in the Big 12. Oklahoma now has 21 verbal commitments but still has one of the highest rated recruiting classes in the nation ranked No. 5 overall, tops in the Big 12.
