Junior running back Sean Carroll has thrived in the triple-option offense of the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints as he has 721 yards and eight touchdowns on 116 carries through the first four games of the 2021 season.
The 5’11”, 200-pound, power-back plays with great intensity and physicality as he uses his good footwork and athleticism to plow through defenders and gain extra yards.
This 2023 recruit is already drawing interest from colleges so it is just a matter of time before he receives his first college offer.
In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I caught up with Sean to talk about his successful junior season and get an update on his recruiting process.
Interview
Sean, how is your junior season going so far?
It’s been going well as I’ve been able to average 180 rushing yards a game.
What has been your favorite moment thus far in the 2021 season?
Beating our rival St. James.
What are your strengths on the football field?
My lower body strength has carried my running. I barely ever go down after first contact.
What kind of offensive scheme does your team run?
We run a triple-option offense.
How do your skills fit into this scheme?
I run in the middle a lot which causes the defense to move everyone inside. Because of that, we are able to get to the outside.
What do you like most about playing running back?
Being able to run the ball 30 times a game.
What is your fastest 40-yard dash time?
4.76.
Is there an NFL player that you try to model your game after?
Larry Csonka.
How would you describe your style of play?
I’m very physical, I do not like to go to the ground no matter what.
Are you receiving interest from any schools?
Yes, sir. I am, but I prefer to keep the schools private.
What game left on the schedule are you most looking forward to playing?
Christian Brothers High School out of St. Louis.
What are your goals for the rest of your junior season?
1,500 rushing yards and a state championship.
What is your GPA?
3.0.
Thank you for your time and good luck the rest of the season.
Thank you, sir.
