St. Thomas Aquinas @ Blue Valley Northwest

St. Thomas Aquinas is 1-1 after picking up their first victory last Friday against Blue Valley North. The Saints are hoping to stay on the winning track as they face the Blue Valley Northwest Huskies. Blue Valley Northwest is 0-2 on the young season.

St. Thomas Aquinas is led by quarterback Karter Odermann who had three total touchdowns in last week’s win. Odermann threw for one touchdown and ran for his other two scores. This is a game the Saints must win if they want stay in state contention.

Blue Valley Northwest has struggled to score so far in 2015 as they have only scored a total of 20 points through their first two games. The Huskies offense is led by quarterback Jack Knutson and their defense is led by senior Ian Trost. If the Huskies can force some turnovers and score some points, there is a chance they can upset St. Thomas Aquinas.

Kapaun Mount Carmel @ Bishop Carroll

Bishop Carroll picked up their first win of the season after blowing out Wichita East, 54-7, and are now 1-1 in 2015. Kapaun Mount Carmel is also 1-1 after falling to Wichita Northwest, 49-33, last week. The Crusaders beat Wichita East in Week One.

Bishop Carroll is led by quarterback Jake Allen and running back Adam Theis. Theis ran for 104 yards and three touchdowns last Friday and Allen has thrown for 375 yards so far in 2015. Another offensive weapon is Ty Seyfert who has 127 receiving yards in 2015.

Kapaun Mount Carmel has averaged 34 points over their first two games. The Crusaders are led by quarterback Brock Monty who has thrown for 557 yards through the first two games of his senior season. Another offensive weapon is wide receiver Colter Hullings who is averaging over 100 receiving yards a game.

Bishop Miege @ Blue Valley

Bishop Miege is undefeated so far in 2015 as the Stags have averaged 58 points in their first two games. Blue Valley is also 2-0 in the young season. The Tigers have a high-scoring offense as well as they average 48 points a game.

Bishop Miege suffered a loss as All-State running back Dawson Downing has suffered a broken hand and will be out for two weeks. Sophomore quarterback Carter Putz, who threw for three touchdowns and ran for one more score last week, should once again carry the load for the Stags. Another offensive weapon is wide receiver Jafar Armstrong who caught a 76 yard pass from Putz last week.

Blue Valley was led by backup quarterback Matthew Dercher, who had four total touchdowns in last week’s win. Dercher is replacing starter Colton McCumber who is battling a shoulder injury. Another offensive weapon for the Tigers is running back AJ Totta who had 70 rushing yards last Friday.
