Kansas State may have found another potential junior college gem with the verbal commitment of Cerritos safety Elijah Walker on Thursday.
Walker played his high school ball at Cabrillo High School in Long Beach (CA). The versatile athlete lined up on both sides of the ball at wide receiver and in the Jaguars secondary earning first team All-Moore honors. The now- 6-2, 190 pound, safety had a productive freshman season with the Falcons tallying 64 tackles in 11 games with three interceptions and a fumble recovery.
Wildcat fans found out about Walker’s commitment on Twitter with a simple tweet reading, “K-State Committ!! #EMAW17.”
KSU snagged Walker away from teams like Colorado State, Iowa State, Oregon, Hawaii, and Oregon State showing various levels of interest.
Kansas State now has 13 verbal commitments to their 2017 recruiting class. All has been quite on the recruiting trail for the Wildcats since Aug. 23 when Josh Brown committed. That followed a hot June and July when KSU secured 10 verbal commitments.
