Kansas State went into Texas on Sunday pulling out Lone Star State defensive end talent Spencer Misko while keeping away from Oklahoma State.
Misko was an under the radar prospect out of Keller High School. The Indians went through a tough 1-9 season against 6A opposition in 2016 but Misko continued to standout. The 6-4.5, 224 pound, weakside defensive end had 65 tackles, 13 tackles for a loss, 16 quarterback hurries, and two sacks during his senior year. Misko had a breakout senior season after tallying 27 total tackles, seven tackles for a loss, and four sacks through 10 games during his junior campaign.
Kansas State has some flexibility with Misko, he also doubles as a blocking tight end for Keller.
Landing Misko was a win on the recruiting trail in more ways than one. Misko committed to Oklahoma State on June 12. The Wildcats offered the Texas talent one day before his verbal commitment to the Cowboys. Other teams to offer Misko included Arkansas State, Texas State, Southeastern Oklahoma, Texas A&M Commerce, Illinois State, and Preview A&M.
Misko posted his commitment on Twitter with a message reading, “I’m very excited & proud to say I have verbally committed to Kansas State University! Thank you everyone #EMAW #FAMILY.”
247Sports rates KSU’s 2017 class No. 63 in the nation, No. 8 overall in the Big 12. Rivals ranks the grouping at No. 68 in the country.
