Kentucky’s 2017 recruiting class is off to an odd but interesting start with the Wildcats picking up their second quarter commitment on Thursday in Walker Wood.
Wood, 6’0”, 190 pounds, is a dual-threat from Lafayette High School. The rising Kentucky talent holds three offers, Cincinnati, Louisville, and Kentucky with teams like Western Kentucky, Wake Forest, Pitt, and Ohio showing interest.
The Lafayette General’s are off to a 6-2 start in 2015 putting up big offensive numbers along the way.
Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops missed on signing a quarterback for the 2015 class with junior Patrick Towles firmly entrenched under center but have a verbal commitment from Coffman High School’s (Dublin, OH) Gunnar Hoak for the 2016 class.
The Wildcats’ 2017 class is now five deep with Bolles High School’s (Jacksonville, FL) Mac Jones being the other quarterback commitment. Wood is the first in-state commitment Stoops has landed for the 2017 class.
