Three games left in the regular season for St. Thomas Aquinas, and the best is yet to come. The Florida powerhouse has been without a healthy four-star tailback Stacy Gage for much of the season. As the Sunshine State playoffs near, Gage (5-11.5, 200) is back in full swing ready to carry his Fort Lauderdale squad to a ring ceremony.
The Raiders have handed the rock to Gage 22 times seeing him cover 135 yards with three touchdowns in his limited action. Gage spoke about his senior campaign.
“The season is going well,” Gage said. “I have been going through some adversity; I am coming back from surgery on my groin. My coaches are getting me back into the groove. I am doing well.”
Keeping a watchful eye on Gage this season from up in Orlando, UCF welcomed their prize commit to campus on Sept. 30 for the Baylor contest.
“It went well,” Gage stated. “The outcome wasn’t what I wanted, but the game experience went well.”
When the Knights return from Norman, Gage will be back at the Bounce House on Oct. 28 to see them play West Virginia.
“I am going to the next UCF home game,” Gage stated. “That’s about it for visits.”
Reporting over 40 offers, Gage’s recruiting attention is solely on UCF.
“UCF and I, that is home for me,” Gage said. “I feel like I am already enrolled there; that is home for me.”
After committing to UCF on June 10, Gage was active helping bring in other top 2024 and ’25 prospects. He has scaled back his influence but is targeting a four-star FSU commit.
“Coach Kam (Martin – RB) hasn’t really told me about the guys to help recruit,” Gage shared. “During the summer I was. Right now, I am not. I am focused on the season. After the season, I will be on a roll back to recruiting. I am trying to get Lawayne McCoy in Miami.”
Gage continued talking about the Miami Central talent, “He is a hell of an athlete,” Gage said. “He can do it on both sides of the ball. Lawayne can be a game changer, and a big-time recruit in the 2024 class.”
McCoy committed to the Seminoles on April 14. The Knights hosted McCoy on an official visit June 9.
