Louisiana: Evangel Christian Academy Class of 2017 WR Johnathan Jones Commits to Louisiana Tech
Written by Charlie Beuttel
Evangel Christian Academy in Shreveport, Louisiana has a reputation of producing great football stars including former NFL running back Jacob Hester and current Louisiana Tech wide receiver Trent Taylor. One of the next big stars to come out of this great football program is junior wide receiver Johnathan Jones. Jones is one of the weapons of the Eagles offense that scores 37.4 points a game.
The 6’2″, 185 pound, junior has caught 10 passes for 153 yards and one touchdown in the regular season and will continue to make big plays for Evangel in the playoffs starting next week. Jones is rated as a three-star prospect by 247sports.com and on Saturday, November 7, he committed to play college football at Louisiana Tech University.
The junior receiver had interest from big time schools including Notre Dame, Arkansas, and TCU before committing to Louisiana Tech.
In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru, I caught up with Johnathan to talk about his commitment to Louisiana Tech and how his commitment took place.
