Kendrick Rucker is ready to make a statement during his senior season after missing half of his junior season due to COVID. The 6’5”, 195-pound, receiver showed flashes of greatness in 2020 including having two touchdowns in a game against Franklin Parish. This playmaker has tremendous route running ability and has good hands to catch any pass thrown in his direction. Rucker also has good blocking ability.

This Class of 2022 recruit currently has two college offers and is also drawing interest from several other programs including Baylor. Not only does Rucker star on the gridiron but he also plays soccer, basketball and runs track at Huntington High School.

In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I caught up with Kendrick to talk about his junior season and get an update on his recruiting process.

Interview

Kendrick, what are your thoughts on the 2020 season?

It was not what I expected because I missed half of it due to COVID.

How would you grade your individual performance during your junior season?

I’ll give myself a B. I ran some routes slow and could have blocked better.

What are your strengths on the football field?

I can block, catch well, and run all kinds of routes. I’m very reliable.

What would you say was your best game and why?

The game against Franklin Parish because I had two touchdowns.

What kind of offense does Huntington run?

We run a versatile offense.

How do your skills fit into the Raiders offense?

I’m a mismatch player because I’m faster than linebackers and bigger than safeties, and I run and block well.

What do you like most about playing wide receiver?

The ability to change the game while making plays and catching passes.

What is your fastest 40-yard dash time?

4.54.

Is there an NFL player that you try to model your game after?

Kyle Pitts (Florida Gators).

Do you play any other sports in high school?

I run track and also play basketball and soccer.

What is your favorite subject in school and why?

Math, because I like calculating things.

Who is your biggest role model and why?

My pops. Life dealt him a bad hand but he kept pushing and never let that determine who he was and he didn’t let it stop him from being a father. He kept going and never gave up.

What have you been working on the most this off season?

Running better routes and working on my speed.

What are your goals for your senior season?

To help take my team to a state championship and earn more Division I offers.

What game on the schedule are you most looking forward to playing?

All of them. I’m ready to make a statement.

Do you have any college offers?

Louisiana College and New Mexico.

Are you receiving interest from any other schools?

Louisiana Tech and Baylor.

What is your GPA?

4.1.

Thank you for your time.

Thank you, sir.
