Louisiana: Fun Q&A with Evangel Christian Academy QB Connor Curry

The Evangel Eagles are off to a 5-1 start in 2015 after finishing 8-4 in 2014. Evangel has won five straight games after losing in Week 1 to nationally ranked St Joseph Prep (PA) 14-0. The Eagles are full of talented players competing in Louisiana 5A classification for the first time since 2004. One of leaders of this great team is junior quarterback Connor Curry.

The 6’2″, 190 pound, sign caller had a great sophomore season throwing for 1,792 yards and 22 touchdowns and was named All-District and All-City honorable mention. Through the first six games of 2015, Curry has thrown for 885 yards and 10 touchdowns.

This past summer Curry attended four college camps including Baylor and Texas. The junior quarterback has talked to a lot of college coaches and received a lot of positive feedback about his talent and is excited to see what happens during the offseason.

Curry not only excels at the quarterback position but also in the classroom where has a 3.9 GPA and has plans on studying bio-medical engineering in college.

Last week, I sat down with Connor to talk all things Evangel football but I also asked him some rapid fire questions to find out what the junior star is like off the gridiron.

Connor, what is your favorite movie?

“Bambi.”

What is your favorite TV Show?

“Impractical jokers.”

Who is your favorite actor?

“Johnny Depp.”

What is your favorite type of food?

“Steak.”

What is your favorite holiday and why?

“Thanksgiving because I love going to my grandparents and spending time with family.”

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

“I’d go see the Northern Lights, it seems like a cool experience to see that.”

Who is your favorite superhero and why?

“Always been Flash, because he runs so fast.”

Who is your favorite football team?

“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers because that’s my dad’s and brother’s favorite team.”

Who is your favorite Buccaneers player?

“Mike Evans, he’s a great receiver.”

Do you have any favorite sports teams outside of football?

“I like the Kansas City Royals and the New Orleans Pelicans.”
