Airline Vikings (6-3) at Haughton Buccaneers (7-2)

Last week, Airline defeated the C.E. Byrd Yellow Jackets 36-20 while Haughton routed Parkway 45-17. The winner of this game will finish second in District 1-5A behind Evangel Christian Academy and will most likely host a first round playoff game next Friday based on the state power rankings. The loser will still make the playoffs but they won’t know where they’ll have to travel to until later next week when the brackets are released.

Airline has a balanced offensive attack that is led by running back Cameron “JoJo” Davis who has 588 rushing yards and eight touchdowns this season. Quarterback Jordan Gladney is making just his third start but has thrown for 275 yards and four touchdowns this year. The Vikings leading wide receiver is Coby McGee who has leads Bossier Parish with 50 receptions and has 534 receiving yards.

Haughton is led by quarterback Cameron Townsend who has thrown for 1,176 yards and 16 touchdowns. The Buccaneers star at running back is Lavonta Gipson who has 975 yards and 16 touchdowns. Townsend’s favorite target is Tristan Sweeney who has five touchdowns this season. One player to watch on the Haughton defense is Jalob Walker who had two interceptions and eight tackles last week in the win against Parkway.

Lakeside Warriors (7-2) at Mansfield Wolverines (6-3)

In Week 9, Lakeside destroyed D’Arbonne Woods 60-6 while Mansfield fell to Calvary Baptist Academy 47-34. With teams falling to Calvary Baptist, the winner of this game will finish in second place in District 1-2A and will receive a higher seeding in the state playoffs.

Lakeside is led by sophomore quarterback Jordan Preuett who has thrown for 1,834 yards, 24 touchdowns, and just five interceptions. Preuett’s favorite target is senior wide receiver Chase Mitchell who has snagged 39 passes for 742 yards and nine receiving touchdowns. The Warriors’ leading rusher is senior running back Buffate Coleman who has ran the ball 83 times for 1,003 and 11 touchdowns.

Mansfield is led by senior quarterback Lakendrick Ross who has thrown for 985 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Wolverines rushing attack is led by senior running back Jordan Walker who has 101 carries for 934 rushing yards and fifteen touchdowns. The playmaker at the wide receiver position is Travis Dewitt who has 605 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Two players to watch on the Wolverine’s defense is senior linebacker JaCorey Dupree who has 51 tackles, 4.5 sacks and one interception and senior defensive lineman Nick Howard who has 54 tackles and 8.5 sacks.
