Louisiana: Interview with Cecilia 2,000-yard Running Back Raymond Calais Jr.

Written by Charlie Beuttel

In 2014 the Cecilia Bulldogs went through a rough 4-7 campaign. In 2015, the Bulldogs have rebounded and are off to a 3-1 start in the young season. One of the big reasons for Cecilia’s success is the great play of senior star running back Raymond Calais.

Calais had a monster junior season in 2014 when he ran for an astounding 2,228 yards and 26 touchdowns. After the 2014 season, Calais won several awards including All-Acadiana, All-District, All-State honorable mention, and first-team All-State Coaches Selection.

The senior workhorse has also used his great speed to run for 913 yards and 14 touchdowns through the first four games of 2015.

The 5’9″, 172 pound, speedster attended four college camps this summer and has four Division-one college offers at this time. Calais also has been on two college visits, Southern Miss and Louisiana-Lafayette. The senior star also excels in the classroom as he currently has a 3.7 GPA.

In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I sat down with Raymond to talk about his high school career at Cecilia and his recruiting process.
