Logansport High School, located 35 miles southwest of Shreveport, had a great season in 2015 as the Tigers finished 8-5 and reached state quarterfinals where they suffered a heartbreaking 67-32 loss to eventual state champion Kentwood.
The season did not start as planned as they started 1-3 but finished by winning seven of their last nine contests. One of the leaders of the team was junior Langston Murray who plays on the defensive and offensive line. Murray, who stands 6’2”, and weighs 305, had a monster campaign where he registered 92 total tackles, 36 tackles for a loss and 3.5 sacks.
The monster playmaker does a great job of making plays in one-on-one situations and dominating double teams so a blitzing linebacker can make a play in the backfield.
The class of 2017 recruit currently has one college offer from the University of Texas-San Antonio and is receiving interest from several other schools.
Murray also works hard in the classroom where he has a 3.2 GPA and in the weight room where he has a bench max of 345 and a squat max of 505.
In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I sat down with Langston to talk about his career at Logansport and his recruiting process.
