Louisiana LB De’jon Harris verbally commits to Arkansas
In 2014 linebacker De’jon Harris helped lead John Ehret High School to a 9-2 record. While racking up 82 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 3 forced fumbles, 2 recovered fumbles and 5 pass breakups and adding 216 rushing yards on 31 carries with two scores, college recruiters were watching.
On Thursday the 6’1”, 230 pound, 3-star talent called the Hogs opting to commit to Arkansas over 10 other scholarship offers.
The Marrero, Louisiana recruit has offers from Arizona State, Oregon, Western Kentucky, Memphis, Southern Miss, Troy, Tulane, Arkansas State, Louisiana Tech, and Louisiana Monroe with schools like Florida State, Kansas State, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Missouri, TCU, UCLA, and Utah showing different levels of interest.
Arkansas hosted Harris on an unofficial visit for the Red-White Spring Game. Harris was a primary target for the Razorbacks recruited heavily by Michael Smith and defensive coordinator Robb Smith.
Harris’ commitment is the sixth overall for the 2016 recruiting class with three coming from the state of Louisiana.
