Written by Charlie Beuttel

Head Coach: David Feaster
Mascot: Panthers
District: 1-5A
2014: 8-2, 3-7*
Location: Bossier City, Louisiana

*Parkway ended the 2014 season with an 8-2 record however due to playing an ineligible player, five wins were taken away and the Panthers were ruled ineligible for the playoffs.

Overview
Parkway made it all the way to the state championship game in 2013 then suffered a lost to Acadiana. The Panthers had the talent to make another deep run in 2014 but unfortunately the LHSAA ruled that freshman backup quarterback Justin Rogers was ineligible which led to five wins being forfeited.

Going into 2015, Parkway returns a team that will make some noise in the playoffs and contend for the state championship. The Panthers’ two biggest games this year will be against 5A newcomer Evangel on Sept. 25 and Byrd on Oct. 2.

Offense
Parkway’s offense is led by Louisiana Tech quarterback commit Keondre Wudtee. The 6’5″, 180 pound, senior threw for 2,544 and 29 touchdowns in his junior year. Another offensive weapon for the Panthers is Mississippi State commit CJ Morgan. Morgan spent time at defensive back and receiver in 2014 but is expected to spend most of the time at receiver in his senior season.

The tight end position will be held by senior Harrison Hopkins. The offensive line is led by Nicolas Holt, who was selected second-team All-District in 2014.

Defense
Parkway returns five starters from last year’s lockdown defense. The defensive line is led by senior Kyler Marcus. Marcus was selected second-team All-District. The two most experienced returning linebackers are Ryan Black and Semaj Tarver. Lloyd Cole (5’11”, 190) is the leader of the Panthers secondary. Cole had 56 tackles last year at cornerback.

The coaching staff will be busy filling the depth chart during the early season practices. 2015 should be a big year for Parkway’s defense.
