On Wednesday, Louisiana Tech added their tenth commitment to their 2017 recruiting class when linebacker Tristan Allen pledged.
Allen has been a productive part of Atlanta High School’s success over the past two seasons. The Rabbits posted a 9-5 mark in 2015 and have gone 6-4 in 2016 against 4A Texas competition. The 6-3, 215 pound, linebacker holds the edge for the Rabbits in their 3-4 defense. Allen has good speed showing the ability to track down plays going the other way. He also uses his athleticism to alter passing windows from the line of scrimmage.
The Bulldogs picked up Allen’s commitment over offers from UTEP and Missouri State. Allen posted his commitment on Twitter writing, “I just wanted to make it official that I’ve officially committed to…” with a link to his Instagram account. The message on Instagram read, “I just wanted to make it official that I’ve officially committed to Louisiana Tech and that’s where I’ll be taking my talents to continue my career. I took a lot of time with this decision and I’ve had to keep God in my heart. I also wanted to thank everybody who helped me with my decision it means a lot.”
Allen is the second Lone Star State commit to join the Bulldogs after Gilmer safety Kollin Hurt accepted a scholarship offer on June 18.
