Louisville had a disappointing second season under Scott Satterfield as the Cardinals finished 4-7 after finishing 8-5 in 2019. Their only wins came against Western Kentucky (35-21), Florida State (48-16), Syracuse (30-0), and verses Wake Forest (45-21). The Cardinals finished 12th in the ACC just in front of Florida State, Duke, and Syracuse. It was also the first time since 1993 that Louisville did not play their rival, Kentucky.

Head Coach Scott Satterfield and his staff are ready to get back into conference contention and locked up a solid recruiting class to help them achieve that goal. Nine of the 21 early period signees have already enrolled in school to start preparing for their freshman season this coming fall.

The highest-rated recruit that signed with Louisville was four-star safety Benjamin Perry from Chicago. Another future defensive star for the Cardinals is three-star defensive end Victoine Brown from Loganville (GA).

Two future offensive weapons are three-star wide receiver Demetrius Cannon from St. Louis and three-star running back Trevion Cooley from Knightdale (NC). A key transfer who will make an immediate impact is dual-threat quarterback Shai Werts. Werts led Georgia Southern to an 8-5 record and a victory in the New Orleans Bowl over Louisiana Tech.

This recruiting class currently ranks ninth in the conference and 36th in the nation but has some time to grow as National Signing Day approaches on Wednesday.
