LSU’s 2017 recruiting class got a verbal commitment from a familiar face on Monday when Lowell Narcisse recommitted to the Tigers.

Narcisse committed to the Tigers on May 2 but had a change of heart on Dec. 12, just three days after making an official visit to Baton Rouge. The Auburn Tigers had been in the mix for Narcisse hosting him for an official visit on Dec. 2.

Reports have a phone call from new Tigers offensive coordinator Matt Canada being the tipping point to get Narcisse back into the fold with LSU. Narcisse gave LSU fans the good news on Twitter posting, “Happy to say my recruiting process has ended. I’ve decided to start my next Chapter [sic] of my life at LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY.”

Narcisse has been on the field since his freshman season making a big impact for St. James High School. The in-state recruit passed for 2,013 yards with 27 scores and rushed for 637 yards with 12 scores as a freshman. In 2014 he upped his game with 3,124 yards passing 31 scores and 195 rushing yards with 18 more touchdowns. Over the past two seasons, Narcisse has missed time due to injury. His 2015 stats, through three games, includes 23-of-36 passing for 296 yards with six touchdowns without throwing an interception. He also rushed for 305 yards in three games with four trips to the end zone. The Wildcats went 8-3 in 2016 but Narcisse was not credited with an official stat.

The addition of Narcisse, a consensus four-star recruit, pushes LSU’s class to a national ranking of No. 5 per 247Sports, No. 3 in the SEC. Rivals also has LSU at No. 5 with two five-star recruits (Tyler Shelvin and JaCoby Stevens), nine four-star, and nine three-star talents. Rivals has Narcisse as a three-star recruit.
