Miami’s 2016 recruiting class is coming to completion with 22 verbal commitments allowing the Hurricanes staff to continue reeling in Class of 2017 prospects. On Saturday Miami accepted their 10th verbal commitment from this year’s high school junior class landing 3-star safety Ahman Ross.
Ross, listed at 5’11”, 185 pounds, has been heavily recruited by two teams, Miami and Florida. The Bolles High School has made multiple visits to both campuses attending both program’s Junior Day festivities.
Watching Miami hold on for a 36-33 overtime win against Nebraska on Saturday during an unofficial visit helped seal the deal for the Canes landing the Jacksonville (FL) area native.
The Bulldogs have been a major player in how high school football in Florida has shaped up over the past two seasons. In 2013, Bolles ended the 4A season 10-4 falling to Booker T. Washington (40-21) in the semifinals and was upended by the Tornadoes (54-35) again last season in the semifinal round. Ross has been a big part of both squads bringing a wealth of experience to south Florida in 2017.
Ross made the announcement public via Twitter writing, “Extremely blessed to announce my commitment to the U!!”
All 10 of the Canes’ Class of 2017 recruits are Florida prospects.
