ORLANDO, Fla. – The college football recruiting game is all about relationships, and UCF has an inside track on Ayden Pouncey (6-3, 160) other programs cannot match. After May offers from West Virginia, Louisville, and Missouri among others, the Winter Park High School (Fla.) defensive back/athlete now holds 16. As Pouncey’s skills grow, teams are working to get the 2026 recruit on campus.

Already possessing a collegiate frame, Pouncey’s upside is unlimited. As his body continues to develop along with his skills, teams are keeping an open mind on his next level fit. When the new season begins, teams will see Pouncey at corner, receiver, and slot receiver.

“I think most colleges are looking at me on the defensive side,” Pouncey stated. “I don’t know if they know free safety or corner yet; I’m not really too sure.”

On June 22, Miami got Pouncey on campus for the Legends camp.

“It went pretty well,” Pouncey shared. “They showed me around the facilities afterwards; I liked it. They have a good atmosphere there.”

When the 2023 college schedule gets going, Knights’ fans can expect to see Pouncey in the Bounce House.

“I’m probably getting up to UCF once or twice,” Pouncey said.

Following up on the connection with UCF, Pouncey shared, “That is probably the best relationship I have right now with coach (David) Gibbs (DB) and coach Addison (Williams – DC).”

Pouncey continued, “Our relationship is not really a player-coach relationship, coach Gibbs is right here in my hometown; I know him pretty well, and I play with his son at Winter Park. We have a pretty good relationship.

Once the early season film gets out, with teams like Miami, Georgia, and Florida State showing interest, expect more offers to come Pouncey’s way.
