Despite the cancellation of his first season at Vermilion Community College, Carlos Carter is ready to bring the pain in 2021. In 2018, Carter racked up 30 tackles and 13 sacks helping lead Bell Multi-Cultural to a state championship win. Now Carter has his sights set on bringing a JUCO championship to Vermilion.
The 6’3”, 220-pound, outside linebacker from Washington DC plays with great intensity and aggression. Carter is also a good leader and communicator on and off the field.
Carter has set several goals for his second season at Vermilion and is excited to work with his new head coach Terrence Isaac.
In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I caught up with Carlos to talk about his football career and get an update for his second season at Vermilion Community College.
Interview
First off Carlos, what are your strengths on the football field?
I’m a good leader and communicator. I cause havoc in the backfield.
What did you work on during the offseason?
I worked out twice a day and kept my weight up. I also worked out with my younger brother, who is one of the best players in the Washington DC area.
What is your 40-yard dash time?
4.59.
What are your maxes in the weight room?
My max squat is 335.
Is there an NFL player that you try to model your game after?
Bud Dupree of the Tennessee Titans.
What was your reaction to the hiring of Coach Isaac?
Excited and ecstatic. I knew he would push me to be the best person and player on and off the player.
How was the team camp in preparation for the season?
It was good. We did a lot of conditioning and got everyone acclimated to college football. We knocked the rust off and are ready to get this season started.
What game on the 2021 schedule are you most looking forward to playing?
The game against Itasca. They’re the best right now and we’re ready to be respected more.
What are your goals this season?
I want to lead the nation in sacks and lead my team to a national title.
Who is your role model and why?
My parents are because they provided everything for me and my siblings.
Do you have a favorite quote?
“No man can think clearly with their first balled up.” It means we shouldn’t let two seconds of your life ruin the rest of your life.
Thank you for your time and good luck this season.
Thank you, sir.
