Running back Quincey Baker has burst onto the scene in 2021 as he has helped lead the Broncos to the first 5-0 start in school history by rushing for 500 yards and seven touchdowns so far in his junior season.
This 5’8”, 180-pound, playmaker uses his great speed, power, and athleticism by weaving his way through opposing defenses to make big plays for his team. Baker also has quick feet and elusiveness.
The 2023 talent is already drawing interest from colleges so it’s just a matter of time before his recruiting process takes off as he continues to impress throughout his junior campaign.
In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I caught up with Quincey to talk about his successful junior season at Lee’s Summit North High School.
Interview
Quincy, how is your junior season going so far?
It’s going really well. I’ve been playing good and the run game is a big deal on our team.
What has been your favorite moment thus far in the 2021 season?
We’re 5-0 including our last win against Blue Valley North, which is a really tough team. This is the first time in our history we’ve been 5-0.
What are your strengths on the football field?
My speed, power, and pure elusiveness.
What kind of offensive scheme does your team run?
We don’t have a set scheme, but we did a good job of running and passing.
How do your skills fit into this scheme?
I get the job done no matter the down and distance.
What do you like most about playing running back?
I like being one of the stars on the field. I like to be a big contributor to the team; it really feels good.
What is your fastest 40-yard dash time?
4.6.
Is there an NFL player that you try to model your game after?
Marshawn Lynch.
How would you describe your style of play?
I get the ball, make people miss, and get the first down for my team.
Did you attend any camps this summer?
I attended a Lindenwood Mega Camp.
What was your favorite thing about that camp?
I enjoy the environment and plan to attend many more camps next summer.
Are you receiving interest from any schools?
I just have a lot of coaches following on Twitter.
What game left on the schedule are you most looking forward to playing?
Park Hill, because we’ve never beat them in the school’s history, and this team is all about making history. I’m ready to go.
What are your goals for the rest of your junior season?
I want to be a big contributor for my team every game, win a state championship, and get more recruiting exposure.
What is your GPA?
3.5.
Thank you for your time today and good luck the rest of the season.
Thank you, sir.
