Marquette High School, located in Chesterfield, is off to a 2-0 start to their 2020 season. The Mustangs have averaged 37.5 points a game behind the rushing attack of senior running back Christopher Kreh. After a 10-2 season a year ago, can the Mustangs ride Kreh’s legs to a Class 6 Missouri state championship berth?

Through the first two games of his senior season Kreh has rushed for 483 yards and nine touchdowns while averaging 5.9 yards per carry. The 5’10”, 205-pound, power back has tremendous strength and toughness to bust through potential tackles. Kreh also has good speed, footwork and athleticism allowing him to break free for explosive plays.

This Class of 2021 recruit currently has six college offers including Pittsburg State and is also drawing interest from several other schools. Kreh, not only stars on the gridiron, but is also featured on the track and holds a 3.4 GPA in the classroom.

In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I caught up with Christopher to talk about his career at Marquette and get an update on his recruiting process.

Interview

Christopher, how would you grade your individual performance in your senior season?

On a scale of 1-10, I would rate it a 7. I feel like I could improve on finding holes faster.

What are your strengths on the football field?

My strengths on the field would probably be my toughness and my endurance.

What area of your game have you seen the most improvement in since the start of the season?

My speed has been the area that has been most improved from last season.

What kind of offensive scheme does Marquette run?

Inside zone and outside zone mostly.

How do your skills translate to this scheme?

I feel like I have the ability to cut side to side but also be a downhill runner to get the hard yards.

What is your fastest 40-yard dash time?

4.5.

Is there a current NFL player that you try to model your game after?

I try to model my game after Christian McCaffrey.

How would you describe what kind of player you are?

I would say I’m an explosive player since I have the ability to break off the bigger runs but also the ability to create separation from the defender in tight spots.

Do you have any college offers?

Pittsburg State, St. Thomas, Missouri S&T, Northeastern State, Truman, and Lindenwood.

Are there any other schools showing you interest?

There have been a couple but the recruiting process has slowed down.

Do you play any other sports in high school?

I used to play golf but now I run track.

What do you like most about playing at Marquette?

The school connection to football. I feel like the school kind of rallies behind football and especially in those times.

Who has had the biggest impact on your football career?

My dad has the biggest impact on my career. He is always the one that pushes me to do the extra work to get to the next level.

What has been your most memorable moment in your high school career?

Beating Kirkwood for the first time in school history my junior year.

What do you want your legacy to be at Marquette after you graduate?

I want to be the best running back to ever play at Marquette High School.

What is your GPA?

3.6.

Do you have a favorite quote?

Success is the best revenge.

Thank you for your time and good luck the rest of your senior season.

Thank you, sir.
