Fort Osage @ Blue Springs
Fort Osage defeated Raytown South on the road last week 27-14. The Indians now come home to face an up-and-coming Blue Springs team that was shutout by Staley 35-0 last week.
Senior wide receiver Donte Dodson led Fort Osage with 149 receiving yards and two touchdowns in Week One and looks to put on another show in Week Two. Senior linebacker Jesse Reser had 10 tackles and two sacks for the Indians last week and should put up another great performance against the Wildcats.
If Blue Springs wants to get back into state title contention these are the type of games they need to win. Junior quarterback Dylan Cowling and senior running back Tresten Spruell need to have big games in their home opener.
Rockhurst @ Webb City
This definitely is the best game of the weekend in Missouri, at least on paper, when two of the top three teams in the state do battle. This is a rematch from last year when Webb City defeated Rockhurst 41-14 in Kansas City.
Both teams opened their seasons with victories seeing Rockhurst defeat Rock Bridge 26-7 and Webb City shutout Carthage 31-0.
This game will feature two great running backs, Kaleb Potts for Webb City and A.J. Taylor for Rockhurst. Potts had two rushing touchdowns in Week One. Taylor, a Wisconsin commit, had 136 yards of total offense.
Winnetonka @ Lee’s Summit North
Both teams opened the season with victories. The Winnetonka Griffins defeated Oak Park 33-19 and the Lee’s Summit North Broncos beat Park Hill South 21-7.
Running back Gerald Onama had 120 rushing yards and two touchdowns for Winnetonka last week and looks have another good performance in Week Two.
Lee’s Summit North quarterback Nate Webb had a great game in Week One including a 37 yard touchdown throw to junior wide receiver Deion Lee.
The Winnetonka matchup is an important game with Lee’s Summit North coming off a disappointing season with hopes of being in playoff contention.
