NCAA Basketball: Harrison twins reportedly going pro

In a season where everything went the Wildcats way until the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament, more bad news for Kentucky fans was leaked on Wednesday just two days after Duke won the 2015 National Championship. Per reports the Harrison twins, Aaron and Andrew, will bypass their final two years of eligibility for a shot at the NBA.

The 6-foot 6-inch guards from Richmond, Texas helped lead the Wildcats through an undefeated regular season during the 2014-2015 season that included a SEC regular season title and a SEC Tournament title finishing with a 34-0 record before the NCAA Tournament. Along the way Aaron Harrison led a stacked Kentucky lineup averaging a team-high 11.0 points per game with Andrew finishing fourth on the team averaging 9.3 points per contest.

If the Harrison twins are leaving Lexington for the NBA, Aaron will be remembered for hitting clutch shots along the way helping UK go to back-to-back Final Fours including a runner-up finish at the end of the 2013-2014 season.

After finishing this season with a 38-1 record following a 71-64 loss to Wisconsin, the Kentucky program is in jeopardy of losing as many as seven players to the professional ranks before the start of the 2015-2016 campaign. Among the players contemplating the move includes Karl-Anthony Towns, Trey Lyles, Devin Booker, Dakari Johnson, and Willie Cauley-Stein.

A press conference is scheduled for the Harrison twins to make their official announcement on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. local time. The press conference could include the announcements of other players heading off to the NBA as well.
