If you are a Nebraska Cornhuskers fan, you have to love Mike Riley’s approach to recruiting – go anywhere and everywhere to get the best players possible. At last count, Riley had signed 16 players from different states with his first recruiting haul with the Cornhuskers and appears to be on that same track again with the 2017 class landing Willie Hampton out of Florida.
Hampton contributed to a 9-3 season for Oxbridge Academy in 2015 coming up with 47 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, nine sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in 11 games played. The 6-2, 220 pound, athlete is still largely under the radar despite offers from Central Florida, Indiana, Western Michigan, and Florida Atlantic.
Hampton gives the Cornhuskers an even greater presence in the state of Florida after signing linebacker Greg Simmons out of Fort Pierce and defensive back DiCaprio Bootle out of Southridge in Miami.
