The recruiting stock for Omaha South High School two-way star Noah Fant is high and rising. The 6’5”, 215 pound, recruit is still seemingly open to the recruiting process going forward but for now he has hitched his wagon to the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Noah made his announcement Friday morning on the Sharp and Benning Show on 1620 AM, a station out of Omaha. After announcing his commitment to Iowa, Fant explained his decision stating, “Me and my family really looked at each school and how Iowa was recruiting me and how they were really pushing me and letting me know that ‘hey you’re our guy and we have big plans for you.’ Also, just the way that they pumped out tight ends out of their school for the NFL and that’s one of my dreams. It ended up being the best fit for me at that point.”

In a previous Recruiting News Guru interview with Fant, the Class of 2016 recruit was asked about his trip to Iowa responding, “It went really well. Their coaching staff really showed me and talked to me about how they want to use me and let me know that I am a priority for them right now. They let me know they can do a lot of really good things with me.”

Fant has offers from Nebraska, Iowa State, Vanderbilt, UCLA, Cal, Buffalo, Liberty, Ohio, South Dakota State, Wyoming and a recent offer from Arizona State. Even though Iowa got their guy the recruiting process may not be over for the Nebraska native. “That’s where I’m going to be committing to for these five schools, but after the season I’m going to re-evaluate,” Fant said during the Sharp and Benning Show. “I think I might get a couple of more offers, I’m not sure, but new offers like Arizona State, I’ll re-evaluate and really see if there’s any schools I can possibly see myself going to and kinda go from there.”

Other schools that have grabbed Fant’s attention early on have been Cal and Vanderbilt. When speaking about the two programs Fant stated, “Both are very high academic schools and both are really good schools that I could see myself going to. Their coaching staffs have both showed me quite a bit of love too.”

Different schools have recruited Fant in different ways. Some see him as a defensive end while others see him as a tight end. Iowa has recruited him as a tight end and for good reason. Fant broke Omaha South’s school record for receiving touchdowns with nine and he tallied 28 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, and 1.5 sacks in nine games last season.
