It is that time of season when the high school regular season is nearing an end or in some states is over and the playoffs are underway. The few remaining games always puts a strain on the senior class looking for scholarship offers to ensure their playing careers continues. While a lot of recruiting is done during the season, just as much if not more is done once college football’s regular season has completed when coaches can finally pour through the countless hours of highlight reels to find missing pieces to their current class.
Since much of the 2016 recruiting is left to be had, RNG has put together a list of top uncommitted players still looking for that perfect fit by National Signing Day.
Top Uncommitted Class of 2016 Players Nevada
All Injured Team
Anthony Smith
DE, 6’3”, 250 lbs
Desert Pines, Las Vegas
2014: 54 tackles, 16 sacks
Offers: Nevada, San Diego State, UNLV
Interest: Arizona, UCLA, Oregon, Arizona State, Fresno State, Oregon State, Colorado
Nevada D1-A Defensive MVP 2014 – First-Team All-State 2014
Smith was a two-way star for Desert Pines High School playing defensive end and tight end in 2014. In August he tore his ACL but still remains one of the more sought after recruits in the 2016 recruiting class.
Michael Geraghty
DE, 6’2”, 230 lbs
Bishop Gorman, Las Vegas
Interest: Arizona, UCLA, Fresno State, Nevada, and UNLV
2013: 19 tackles, 7.5 TFL, 4.5 sacks
Geraghty is another injury casualty who missed his entire 2014 season and has been limited to just four games this season. When healthy he is as good as anyone in the state of Nevada.
Interest: Arizona, Colorado, UCLA, UNLV, Northwestern
Healthy and Grinding
Keenen King
OT, 6’4”, 285 lbs
Arbor View, Las Vegas
Offers: Arizona State, Colorado, San Diego State, UNLV
King has helped the Aggies to a 7-1 record in a run dominated offense that has picked up 2,296 yards on the ground in eight games and just 636 passing. King has proven himself as a run blocker in the team’s throwback Wing-T style option offense.
Tyler Romer
OT/OG, 6’6”, 275 lbs
Fernley High School, Fernley
Offers: Louisville and San Diego State
Romer is a grinder with a great frame and athleticism poised to take off once in a collegiate program with a weekly weight lifting program. His size will allow him to play on the outside or in the interior at the next level.
Jeremiah Pritchard
OLB/SS/RB 6’0”, 200 lbs
Silverado, Las Vegas
Offers: Colorado, UNLV, Hawaii
Interest: Cal, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Utah State, Yale
2014: 48 tackles, 4 sacks
In 2014 Pritchard suited up for Farrington High School in Honolulu, Hawaii. Pritchard is quick and tough coming off the end for Silverado. He is better suited as a rover in a 4-2-5, outside linebacker, or safety at the next level.
Ikem Okeke
OLB, 6’0”, 200 lbs
Bishop Gorman, Las Vegas
Offers: Nevada and UNLV
Stats
2014: 56 tackles, 16.5 TFL, 7 sacks, 3 FF, 1 INT
2015: 32 tackles, 2.0 TFL, 1 sack, 2 pass deflections, 1 FR
Hard to pick up too many tackles playing for Bishop Gorman, a roster loaded with talent, but Okeke is among the team leaders in tackles this season playing in seven of the team’s nine games.
No One is Talking About
LB Pearson Lawrence – Damonte Ranch High School, Reno
6’2”, 215 lbs
115 tackles, 9 sacks, 11 TFL, 7 QB Hurries in nine games
Lawrence is leading the state of Nevada in tackles among the schools issuing weekly stats. Not the quickest guy on the field but finds a way to the ball to make plays.
DB Sean Hamilton – Foothill High School, Henderson
6’1”, 170 lbs
8 INT in six games
WR Luis Correa – West Wendover High School
5’6”, 135 lbs
