NFL snubs various former SEC players in 2015 draft
Not everyone is cut out to play in the NFL but certain SEC guys one would expect to be selected in the draft at some point. Each year snubs happen for one reason or another. Character issues, durability, attitude, and even failed drug tests can push a potential first round guy completely out of the draft, case in point LSU offensive tackle La’el Collins.
Collins was a beast starting 26 games at left tackle for the Tigers. The 6’4”, 305 pounder, was as talented as any lineman entering the draft but went undrafted due to off the field questions.
Another big snub was Auburn Tigers center Resse Dismukes. Dismukes started in 50 games winning the Rimington Trophy in 2014 as the best center in the nation. The 6’3”, 296 pound, lineman was also named an All-American and a First-Team All-SEC performer but was not good enough to get drafted by any of the 32 teams throughout seven rounds of the draft.
Some of the bigger names not drafted included Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall, South Carolina quarterback Dylan Thompson, Mississippi State running back Josh Robinson, and Auburn running back Corey Grant after he ran a 4.27 and 4.28 forty-yard dash during his pro day.
The following is a list of SEC players by college team who signed free agent deals once the 2015 NFL Draft concluded.
