One of college football’s most exciting rivalry games meets for the 114th time on Saturday when No. 14 Oklahoma State travels to Norman to face No. 18 Oklahoma. Beyond in-state bragging rights among the fans and along the recruiting trail, this showdown has Big 12 Conference Championship implications adding extra intensity to an already heated gridiron battle.
After a 1-2 start that began with a 48-0 victory over Missouri State and losses to Kansas State and Iowa State, the Sooners found their footing in time to take down another rival, Texas (53-45), in overtime. Since taking down the then- No. 22 Longhorns, OU has put together a four-game winning streak mathematically staying alive in the Big 12 race with remaining games against West Virginia and Baylor.
Two weeks after the Sooners handed the Longhorns a defeat, Texas bounced back with a 41-34 overtime win against the then- No. 6 Cowboys. OSU brushed off the loss winning on the road against Kansas State and are coming off a bye to meet with Oklahoma.
As the key tie-breakers go, OSU has beaten conference leading Iowa State but lost to Texas while Oklahoma took down the Longhorns and have those two key losses to KSU and ISU. The Cowboys still have Texas Tech and road games to TCU and Baylor left on the 2020 schedule.
Oklahoma holds king in the all-time series with an 81-18-7 record winning the last five meetings. Get ready for some Bedlam!
