BRADENTON, Fla. – Curious about the next generation of quarterback talent coming up through the high school and college football ranks? No need to fret, these “Young Gunz” can spin it. After two days of instruction and on the field coaching, players from across the country showed out at the NXGN Camp held at IMG Academy in Bradenton (Fla.) over the weekend with the big finale on Sunday bringing out the best in the best.

Texas, Georgia, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, California, New York, Michigan, Utah, North Carolina, Indiana, Arizona, Nevada, Mississippi, South Carolina, Massachusetts, Ohio, New Jersey, Connecticut – you pick the spot, this camp was a fantastic sampling of players in the 2029, 2030, and 2031 classes from across the country.

Sunday’s portion of the competition split the groups into two sections with action happening on two fields. Players were evaluated on touchdown-checkdown throws and in an NFL combine style drill with quarterbacks going under center, dropping back, and rolling out hitting targets left, right, and center going down the field.

The top performers recognized at the end of the camp in the 2029 class were Lord Heru (VA), Brooks Herman (UT), Jake Matsen (UT), and Jason O’Neal Jr. (GA) in the 2030 class.

Each player received an Adidas Five-Star bag for their outstanding play and an invite to the NXGN camp in Atlanta.

One of the exciting aspects of the camp was finding out who were the high scorers through the drill portion of the competition. The leaders on the scoring chart in the 2030 group were Kai Goodling (FL) and Jordan Sharp (GA) tied with 10 points each out of a possible 14.

Out of North Carolina in the 2029 class, Tyson Douglas-Brown topped the competition, scoring 11 out of 14.

A handful were acknowledged, but there were a lot of standout performances at the camp.

Players to note that have the skills in the pocket:

Chase Cone (GA), Corey Middleton Jr. (TX), DJ Najera (CA), Alejandro Pimentel (MA), Charlie Baxter (GA), Ty Snell (GA), Christian Cypher (GA), Neev Bohlken (GA), Jack Griffin (FL), Titus Benson (AR), Bryson Burns (MS), Matthew Pangaro (CT), Walker Mottley (FL), Gavin Pritzkau (FL), and Kobe Towns (PA).
