A great message for all high school players, if you go compete, great things can happen. For new Broken Arrow High School (Broken Arrow, OK) quarterback Kason Delgado, he took his skills on the road putting on a show at Under Armour’s camp in Dallas. After the camp, he picked up an offer from Hawaii.
College coaches got a four-game sample of Delgado’s (6-1, 190) abilities in the pocket last fall with Edmond Sante Fe High School (Edmond). The Class of 2027 prospect threw for 1,261 yards with eight touchdowns tossed and rushed for 110 yards on 34 totes.
Getting ready for the fall schedule with the Tigers, Delgado and his teammates are learning a new offense.
“We haven’t gone over all of it yet,” Delgado said. “We have a new coaching staff. I love it. It is amazing. We are running a Spread.”
Chemistry with his new teammates is quickly being developed.
“It is great,” Delgado stated. “I’m online; I am virtual. I go up at 9:00 to do my school work, then I do my workout, and at 2:20 we workout. After workouts, we throw every day. Sometimes I will bring my center out, we practice snaps and work to get that down. We go to church together, and everything like that.”
The skills he brings to the Tigers’ new offense were covered.
“I’d say I am a pretty big talker; I do talk,” Delgado shared. “I use all my skills – running, that is a big skill for me because of my speed and passing. I have a quick release, keeping eyes down field, avoiding pressure, and using my athletic ability to get the ball where it needs to be are my strengths.”
Working with coach Damian Williams out of Texas and Coleman Key out of Tulsa, Delgado spoke about his offseason focus, “I am working on my mechanics, my speed, getting that faster than it is, and I am working with my running backs coach on footwork.”

Delgado continued, “With coach Williams, we work on everything – fast tempo. I love how he coaches. If we are working on a rep, we mess up, we have to fix it or run a lap; I love it. With coach Coleman, we mainly work on all of it as well. We do a lot of off platform throws, throws on the run, and things like that.”
On the camp that brought the Hawaii opportunity, Delgado shared, “It went really well. I showed my numbers; I had a great day there. I met a lot of familiar faces.”
Fall of 2024, Delgado took game day visits to Oklahoma State, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and North Texas. In January, Delgado went to Miami spending time with Hurricanes’ offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Shannon Dawson. Teams from around the country are trying to get him on campus.
“I am going to Minnesota, Colorado State, Syracuse, and Tulsa,” Delgado stated. “I might have to hit Hawaii. They offered, I want to see what it is about on island time.”
Details on the Rainbow Warriors’ offer were provided by Delgado, “They gave me a call after seeing my Under Armour film. They said, “I watched your film from Under Armour. You looked really good; we’d like to offer you and get you to our facilities as soon as possible”.”
With the trip to Minnesota coming up, Delgado explained his interest in the Golden Gophers, “When I was at Union my freshman year, they were on Shaker Reisig; he was the quarterback above me. He’s now at Boston College. They would meet with him a ton. They wanted him, and have talked to me. They gave me a game invite.
“I’m excited to get there. My offensive coordinator, one of the quarterbacks that he coached will be the starter there next season.”
Getting to hang with the Orange in New York, Delgado shared, “Man, I’ve seen their facilities and their stadium online, it looks great. I’m excited about meeting their coaches and learning more about the offense.”
Coming off his injury shortened season, Delgado is on a mission.
“I have a lot to prove this season,” Delgado stated. “I have a chip on my shoulder. I want to show them what I am all about this season.”
In addition to the Hawaii offer, Delgado also has an offer from Nicholls State with teams like Oklahoma State, Texas State, Minnesota, Colorado State, Tulsa, North Texas, and Houston showing interest.
