Scotty Gilkey Jr. transferred in the offseason from Broken Arrow High School to Edison High School with results paying off early for the senior. The Eagles are 0-1 after a tough 21-7 opening loss to Bishop Kelley but Gilkey has looked good showing dual-threat ability with tough runs up the middle, a nice touch on deep passes, and the 6’5”, 210 pound, quarterback even levels defenders springing his running backs for extra yards.
The Tulsa, Oklahoma area native entered the season with an offers from Louisiana-Monroe, Louisville, and Eastern Illinois. Other teams showing various levels of interest include: Oregon, Oregon State, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, Bowling Green and Central Arkansas
