Oklahoma Sooners Gain Verbal from 4-Star 2017 Texas RB Kennedy Brooks

The Sooners added another four-star running back to their 2017 recruiting class with the verbal commitment of Kennedy Brooks on Monday.
Brooks was part of Mansfield High School’s 12-3 team during the 2015 season making a run into 6A semifinal round before colliding with Lake Travis. The 6-0, 197 pound, back made a big leap in production going from 1,271 yards gained on the ground with 14 scores as a sophomore to 3,522 yards along with 42 scores. Brooks proved to be a workhorse and an every down back carrying the ball 431 times in 2015 and hauled in six passes for 92 yards.
Through five games into his senior year, Brooks has rushed for 1,185 yards with 16 touchdowns.
College coaches liked the talent and play-making abilities Brooks has securing double-digit offers from teams like Arkansas, Wisconsin, Michigan, Kansas, Washington, Texas Tech, Illinois, SMU, Texas A&M, Minnesota, and Tennessee.
Brooks posted his commitment news on Twitter writing, “I’m so blessed to say I’m officially committed to The University of Oklahoma.”
The Sooners have the No. 5 overall ranked 2017 recruiting class, tops in the Big 12. Sprayberry High School running back Trey Sermon, also a four-star recruit, committed to Oklahoma on April 29.
