Oklahoma lands Class of 2016 pro-style QB from North Carolina
After missing out on a quarterback in the 2015 recruiting class, Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops has been quick to line up verbal commitments under center for his 2016 class landing Austin Kendall on Tuesday.
Kendall, 6’2”, 205 pounds, is the second quarterback committed to the Sooners’ 2016 class joining Dekaney High School’s (Houston, Texas) Adrian Hardy.
The Cutbertson High School talent had a breakout season in 2014 throwing for 4,461 yards with 49 touchdowns. Kendall did not take his recruiting lightly in the early going taking unofficial visits to Kentucky, Clemson, and South Carolina while camping last year at Georgia State and University of Georgia.
The Waxhaw, North Carolina, native committed to Tennessee in August of 2014 but decommitted on March 10, 2015 after an unofficial visit to Knoxville, one of many, on February 28.
Kendall is considered a 4-star recruit with offers from Auburn, Boston College, West Virginia, Miami (Florida), North Carolina State, and Wake Forest among others.
