The Sooners started the 2020 season 1-2 but quickly rallied to win their final eight games finishing second in the Big 12 during the regular season behind Iowa State. Oklahoma kept the hot streak going in the conference championship game defeating the Cyclones (27-21) to win their fourth straight conference championship game. The Sooners ended the 2020 campaign with a No. 6 national ranking after downing the Florida Gators 55-20 in the Cotton Bowl. The focus in Norman now turns to the future with recruiting.
Oklahoma is going into their fifth season under Lincoln Riley and are once again reloading to continue their conquest of the Big 12. Last month, the Sooners scooped up 16 prospects to add depth all over their roster. The highest rated recruit that signed with Riley and Oklahoma is their quarterback of the future in five-star dual-threat quarterback Caleb Williams from Washington D.C.
Two highly touted recruits that are crossing enemy lines from Texas and are joining Oklahoma’s program that are expected to make an impact on the offensive side of the ball are offensive tackle Savion Byrd from Duncanville and athlete Billy Bowman from Denton.
This recruiting class is currently ranked as the top class in the conference and is slotted No. 10 in the country with 16 attached, one five-star and 12 four-star prospects. These young men will help the Sooners not only continue to dominate the Big 12 but also compete for a national title.
