Ole Miss Sets 2017 LB Rotation with Georgia 4-Star Breon Dixon

The Rebels appear to have their linebacker class set adding their third playmaker at the second level with Georgia’s Breon Dixon committing to Ole Miss on Jan. 1.

Mississippi got a really good one in Dixon. The 6-0, 218 pound, outside linebacker was one of the leaders for Grayson High School helping the Rams to a Georgia 7A state title in 2016. Dixon worked his way into being one of the more highly sought after linebackers in the nation with an offer sheet that extended over 20 scholarships.

Georgia thought they had their in-state talent wrapped up during Christmas 2015, but a change of heart came on Aug. 21 when he decommitted from the Bulldogs. Teams like Mississippi State, TCU, and Louisville pushed hard for Dixon. The Rebels got Dixon on campus for an official on Nov. 26. Other teams to offer Dixon included Alabama, Auburn, Michigan, North Carolina, Miami, Oklahoma, LSU, Iowa, USC, Penn State, Cal, and Tennessee.

Dixon committed to the Rebels during ESPN’s live broadcast of the Under Armour All-American Game. He followed up his on air commitment posting “Blessed to be committed to The University of Mississippi” on his Twitter account.

The Rebels now have three linebackers committed to their 2017 class. Northeast JUCO linebacker Brenden Williams has already signed. Dixon, a four-star, joins four-star Louisiana linebacker Josh Clarke in the group.
